The Hunt For Red October . Gremlins 2 . George Bush Senior . My car.
Losing coolant, again. 50 thousand miles of 'that worked'.
Second time it's done this. Leaking coolant into the exhaust.
Dangit. At 208,000, it's worth less than the repair.
On paper.
You sexy bitch, I can't leave you.
Except maybe for a coupe.
yes, I have the twisted, convoluted mind that says, "yes, this works."
also, stock versions of this need to be preserved. Hard to find a stock picture in all the dub—hippity-hop tire-donking Bondoblob spin styles out there
In my day, Hella Flush meant you found the ultra-rare OEM foglights that fit the spaces in the front spoiler.
Meh.
Anyway, I gotta figure out something. Fix it again, run into ground, or just pipe in a second, more convenient overflow tank, to be refilled each time it needs it. (about every day)
Yeesh, is this kind of crap going to happen EVERY ten years? I thought I got something reliable.
*mk2 Jetta, reliable, leaky, stock, undented. keeping.

Bondo-blob spin style: I imagine it's where you stir up a batch of filler thin it with vodka and paint, dump it on the roof and go at it with a random orbital polisher.

What is the current car: a mk2 golf or some Audi?

Your Audi-Fu is showing. yes, the badge is from an Audi, just to illustrate. Off an ad for a A6 with a bad turbo for $2K, repair est $4k. Ouch.
I have at MK2 Jetta GL. The Beige of Germany.

Hows the body? Sounds like it is time for a new motor.
Too bad it is so hard to play around with swapping VW motors/internal bits between their cars <[sarcasm]
Maybe time for a 16 valve or a vr?

This shouldn't have happened. Had a very OCD former VW mechanic do the works on it about 3 years ago. Top end redone, proper brass gasket etc. I guess I shouldna drove up that mountain on low water. Doh.
Only bad spot is the rusty area around the ingenious overflow tank spill onto the shock tower.
0That A6 is right next to where I'm going to be doing some field work. I may stalk it a bit. Somehow deluded that an Audi turbo for a premium car would be as easy as changing a water pump. (20-24 hours labor est)
